Some of you have been asking how the packing day for Container # 63 for Cuba went Feb 13th. Or some other suitable title.
In January when setting the date for sending this container full of supplies for seniors being cared for at home by relatives, I checked the long range weather forecast.
“Day time temperature of minus 5 degrees C. with sun.”
Well they got the sun right but a few days before packing day, the temperature fell to minus 17 degrees centigrade.
In spite of this, our indomitable volunteers persevered and 10,000 diapers, 100 wheel chairs and walkers and many other things were all packed and gone by 2:30 p.m.
The wind break we built around the freight door of the warehouse allowed us to seal the the container to the building and the heat from the warehouse kept the container temperature reasonable.
We thank God all went well and pray that these supplies will allow the Cuban Church to demonstrate God’s love for those standing at Heaven’s gates.
Thank you to those of you who support MEMO financially and made it possible to cover the $12,000 CDN shipping cost.
